Controlling Body Weight with Breakfast

People sometimes lazy or do not have time to do breakfast every day. But it should not skip breakfast because breakfast helps control weight.

Breakfast foods are consumed in the morning. It is because when sleeping the body remains the activity and burn 500-600 calories, so in the morning the body needs calories again. At breakfast our bodies need 25% of the caloric needs per day.

“Consuming a healthy breakfast on a regular basis can help you lose excess weight and maintaining an ideal weight,” says Katherine Zeratsky, RD, LD, as a nutritionist at the Mayo Clinic, as quoted from Mayoclinic, Thursday (07/14/2011).

Zeratsky said a healthy breakfast can reduce hunger, making them easier to avoid overeating or unhealthy snacks. But if it is not breakfast, it tends to feel constantly hungry, so he will be more eating and snacking.

Skipping breakfast can increase the body’s insulin response that will increase fat storage and weight gain. As a result of skipping breakfast can increase the risk of obesity.

Breakfast can also give energy to increase physical activity during the day and refill the glycogen which serves to supply blood sugar (glucose). And increasing balance settings such as hormone growth hormone, insulin and the hormone serotonin.

Unfortunately many people who skip breakfast in the morning and tend to replace breakfast with a snack of sugar, salt and high carbohydrate. This condition does not make a person’s weight is reduced, but it will increase.

If you skip breakfast because you want to save time or calories, you should try to be reconsidered especially for you who are trying to control weight.
